Classic Examples
Some classic examples of film posters are Harry Potter,
Bridget Jones Diary, and Sherlock Holmes, Brief Encounter, James Bond.
They are made to be effective which the style such as the
colours, fonts, and images which are placed together creating a visual that
audiences are most likely to remember and think that they will go and see the
film be advertised.
How have posters
developed over time?
Film posters have developed a lot over time especially due
to new technology being introduced in the industry. Before the 1990s movie
posters were drawn. Now as computers and technology is widely available posters
are created on software which they can easily be edited.
Now film posters can also vary in sizes, as main stream
films like to attract publicity, promotion and audiences, the posters are distributed
in many areas therefore they are created/printed so that the size will not ruin
the quality because they can be from sizes like A4 which could be stuck down on
a street to the size of large billboards. Even from official websites allow
people to download various sizes from small to big as this would depend on the
size of their laptop/computer, this is to ensure they have good quality and it
fits onto the screen.
